The objectives of WCPPA shall include, but are not limited to the following:
- To foster professional and effective working relationships among law enforcement agencies, community crime prevention practitioners and the general public.
- To provide a central resource from which all crime prevention practitioners can obtain crime prevention information, guidance, support, referrals, to provide materials, technical assistance and audiovisual resources.
- To seek support from local, county, state, and federal governments for community-based and law enforcement crime prevention programs.
- To promote public awareness of crime prevention through development of a speakers bureau, distribution of crime prevention materials and utilization of local media.
- To enhance professionalism among crime prevention practitioners through establishment of a certification program.
- To promote uniformity in program implementation and legislation.
- To coordinate statewide crime prevention activities by developing a membership and program directory, publishing an electronic newsletter and holding regular meetings.
- To promote an annual meeting of Crime Prevention Practitioners in conjunction with the annual conference.
- To promote the development of crime prevention programs where they do not currently exist and provide services for maintenance of existing programs.
